need a space to track my gym progress so why not flounder it

September 2

Still weighing around 268.3. good progress though in that i’m finally seeing strength progress. I went from struggling to do 40 lbs on the chest press to now doing 55 without struggling much until the end of my sets. i’ve also added in lat pulldowns, more consistent shoulder presses and hip abductions. i think in particular the glute focused exercises will help with fixing my anterior pelvic tilt posture issues.

good to keep a log. i will say this past week i haven’t been super strict about trying to eat in a deficit which is probably at least part of why there’s not been a change on the scale. but i did clearly gain some muscle/i know my periods coming soon and im probably retaining a lot of water/ retaining water in my muscles from strength training. hard to measure actual fat loss yet.

been feeling pretty miserable about my life lately and having the gym as a goal has been really important to me right now. it feels good to have something i’m doing that’s good for me.

Late July 2026

weighed in at my heaviest ever— 273 lbs. was feeling really terrible about myself and decided to really take working out and calorie restriction more seriously

August 28 2026

Weighed in at 268. Routine has been:

10-20 mins on treadmill + walking to the gym and walking home, about a half hour walk each way.

3-4 sets on chest press of 10-12 reps each at about 40 pounds for now, some times i’ll do one set at 55 to push myself.

3-4 sets on the leg press at 110-130 pounds, about 10-12 reps.

1-2 sets on the shoulder press bc OWWWW the shoulder press always leaves me so sore

been doing around 40 pounds.

lat pull downs: 3 sets of 10 reps and 55 lbs.

excitingly, i know i tend to retain water weight and bloat around my period, which i think is coming soon. so i’m looking forward to re-checking my weight progress in a couple of weeks after my period passes. i am hoping once the water weight from my period/ the water i’m retaining in my muscles from getting back into lifting while taking a break in spain passed, i am hoping to see more progress.

as far as diet changes, ive lowkey been still eating a good amount of junk, but ive made some changes. i have been trying to stop eating when i get full— so lets say i order a bowl from chipotle, and i am full before i finish the bowl, i have been trying to prioritize weight loss over feeling guilty about food waste. so i will not eat anything after i am full even if that means some food gets thrown out.

i have switched to mini cans of soda and have been trying to have only one a day! i also have stopped eating ice cream as frequently, though i still let myself enjoy it when i want to.

beyond that, im not strictly on a diet or anything—im literally writing this as i eat some greasy pizza. but im just being more mindful. i am still feeling unsure if i am actually losing fat or if these weight fluctuations are from something else. i am hopeful over the next couple of months to lose enough weight/see changes in what im able to lift and be sure whether my routine is actually making a difference.
